Pakistan pace bowler Imran Khan will miss the third Test against England in Sharjah after injuring his bowling hand on Friday.

Khan had to be taken to hospital after he split the webbing on his right hand when attempting to catch a ball during a fielding session at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Khan had his wound stitched up and is now expected to be out of action for approximately 10 days.

“He injured his hand while fielding session and was taken to hospital,” Pakistan team manager Intikhab Alam told ESPNcricinfo. “He is out for ten days after four stitches were applied at his webbing.”

With Khan out, it is likely that left-arm seamer Rahat Ali will take his spot on the line-up.
