Jamaica Tallawahs captain Chris Gayle was at his very best against the St Lucia Zouks as he hammered an unbeaten 90 to lead his side to an impressive 10-wicket win.

Gayle seemed to do everything right during the match as his decision to bowl first proved to be an excellent choice as the Tallawahs’ bowling attack restricted the Zouks to 118/9 off their 20 overs.

Opening batsman Johnson Charles was the Zouks’ top-scorer with 29 runs, while former England batsman Kevin Pietersen added 26.

Krishmar Santokie and Rusty Theron picked up three wickets apiece, while Jerome Taylor took two and Nikita Miller claimed one.

Chasing 119 to win, Gayle went absolutely berserk right from the get-go as he smashed boundary after boundary to keep the fans at Gros Islet highly entertained even though their side was losing.

Gayle and Chadwick Walton ended up getting the job done themselves as they amassed an unbeaten 121-run partnership, during which Gayle surpassed his half-century.

Gayle ended up finishing on 90 off just 36 balls, which included six boundaries and nine sixes, while Walton remained undefeated on 25 off 25 deliveries, which included two boundaries and a six.

Gayle was named Man of the Match.
