The jersey worn by legendary India batsman Sachin Tendulkar in his 200th Test match has been bought by Shivraj Singh of Jodhpur for Rs 6 Lakhs at an auction hosted by Christie’s at the Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Tendulkar retired from international cricket after playing in his 200th Test, which came against the West Indies in his hometown of Mumbai in November 2013.

A painting of the occasion by Paresh Maity fetched Rs 7.5 lakhs.

All the proceeds of the auction, which is estimated to be around Rs 80 lakhs, went to the Indian Head Injury Foundation, which was set up by Singh after he himself suffered a serious head injury during a polo match in February 2005.
