Pietersen is desperate to play against England on Wednesday

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has announced that he wants to take on the national team when they face the Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra on Wednesday.
Pietersen’s comments come after Michael Hussey, who was supposed to captain the Prime Minister’s XI, is likely to miss the match due to a calf injury.
While talking to former Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist in the commentary box when he was batting against the Melbourne Renegades, Pietersen, who plays for the Melbourne Stars, said: “In the Prime Minister’s game on Wednesday, Mr Michael Hussey’s missed out. Jeez, I fancy that.”
Gilchrist then asked: “Are you telling us you’re available?”
Pietersen replied: “Mate, I’m always available.”
Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff believes that the England bowlers will have their work cut out for them if Pietersen does play for the Prime Minister’s XI.
“If @KP24 plays for the prime ministers XI they’ll need a turnstile at the bowlers end, they’ll be queuing up,” Flintoff said via his Twitter account.
Following the match, which the Stars won by three wickets off the last ball, Pietersen tweeted “I’m available” to Australia Prime Minister Tony Abbott.
