The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have issued show-cause notices to five players, including Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi, after they appeared in a commercial without the board’s permission.

The other four players to receive show-cause notices were Mohammad Irfan, Anwar Ali, Wahab Riaz and Fawad Alam.

All five players recently starred in a commercial for one of the sponsors of the recent series against Australia and New Zealand.

The players are believed to have violated the terms of their central contracts since they are required to obtain a No-Objection Certificate from the board before taking part in any commercial activities.
