Former Australia batsman Justin Langer has announced that Shaun Marsh has to take the attack to the Indian bowling attack during the second Test in Brisbane.

Marsh was included in the Test squad as a replacement for regular skipper Michael Clarke, who was ruled out for the rest of the series after he tore his hamstring and injured his back during the first Test in Adelaide.

“He’s having a crack at it and has the confidence to play his game, which is to be nice and aggressive and take it to the Indian bowlers,” Langer said. “He’s been batting [at number] five for Western Australia and had great success here over the last couple of seasons.

“That suits him so that he can go and play his natural game which is to be really positive and taking it to the bowlers. I’m hopeful he can do it in the Test match as well.”
