India pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will miss the first two Tests against Australia after sustaining an ankle injury.

Kumar missed India’s training session on Sunday as a result of his ankle injury.

Even though the Indian management said that Kumar “is recovering from his left ankle pain and he could be available for first Test selection”, it is understood that his injury is serious enough to rule him out until the third Test, which will be held in Melbourne on Boxing Day.

A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) insider revealed that Kumar will not be rushed into making his comeback since the management know that he will play a crucial role during the ODI tri-series against Australia and England, and during the 2015 World Cup as well.
