Legendary India batsman Sachin Tendulkar has reached out to those affected by the devastating floods in Jammu and Kashmir by donating a large amount of relief materials.

Tendulkar donated five tons of dry food and vegetables, 1,000 blankets and 400 water filters, which will supply clean drinking water to 10,000 families each day. In addition to that, the iconic batsman also donated 100,000 chlorine tablets, which will give 10,000 households purified water for the next three months.

Divisional Commissioner Shantmanu thanked Tendulkar on behalf of the government and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah before adding that the provisions will be given to various affected districts over the next couple of days.
