Cook will not play any cricket from now until November

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have decided to rest captain Alastair Cook until the national team’s limited overs tour of Sri Lanka in November.
This means that Cook, who has only made four half-centuries in 2014, will not be available for Essex’s last three County Championship matches.
However, all the other England players have been cleared to represent their respective County teams.
