England batsman Ian Bell will miss the final ODI against India at Headingley after sustaining a fractured toe while batting in the nets prior to the start of the fourth ODI in Birmingham.

Gary Ballance took over the number three spot in the fourth ODI, and despite only scoring seven runs, he is highly likely to play at the same spot in the fifth ODI.

Bell started off the summer opening the batting with captain Alastair Cook. However, he was recently pushed down to number three after Alex Hales was called up.

Bell was not included in the squad for the one-off Twenty20 International against India on September 7 in Birmingham.
