Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan will review the national team’s performance against Sri Lanka with captain Misbah-ul-Haq and head coach Waqar Younis.

It has also been announced that Khan will meet with team manager Moin Khan.

Pakistan lost the Test series 2-0 and ODI series 2-1, which has prompted a lot of concerns ahead of the 2015 World Cup.

According to sources, the meetings with be on a one-on-one basis.

While the players who travelled to Sri Lanka are likely to be included in Pakistan’s World Cup squad, the PCB are concerned about team unity, which has severely deteriorated according to one official.

With the World Cup less than six months away, the PCB are highly unlikely to appoint a new captain. However, some players believe that would be the best option, according to a number of sources.

Former players have also called on the PCB to let all-rounder Shahid Afridi replace ul-Haq as captain. But, the only problem is that Afridi has been in extremely poor form as of late. In fact, he has failed to take a single wicket in his last six ODIs and his batting has become very unpredictable.

Ex-Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf is just one of many people who believe that Afridi should become captain.

“If the captaincy remains with Misbah you can’t expect improvement in results,” Yousuf said. “He has been the captain for four years and has not been able to find a proper combination. I think it is imperative we have Afridi, who is aggressive and can lead in a better way.”
