Queensland batsman Chris Lynn will miss the first half of Australia’s domestic season after having undergone surgery on his injured shoulder.

Lynn aggravated his shoulder injury while playing for Australia A and recently went under the knife to repair a rotator cuff.

As a result of the surgery, Lynn will miss the entire domestic one-day tournament and the start of the Sheffield Shield season.

However, he is looking to return when the Big Bash League (BBL) gets underway on December 18.

“There’s never a good time to be injured but the goal is to be ready in time for the BBL if all goes to plan,” Lynn said. “The surgeon was happy with how things went and the Queensland medical staff are pleased it all seems to have gone to plan.

“I’m pretty sore at the moment, and having spoken to a few people who have been down the same road, I know that there is plenty of hard work ahead. But I’m confident I will be up to getting back to full fitness and playing some good cricket for Queensland and the Heat in the second half of the season.”
