“I’m sure Straussy will have KP round for a glass of white or red, and discuss what’s happened”

England pace bowler Stuart Broad has announced that former captain Andrew Strauss and ex-batsman Kevin Pietersen should work out their issues over a drink.

Broad’s comments come after Strauss was overheard calling Pietersen an “an absolute c**t” during the Lord’s Bicentenary match, in which Pietersen was representing the Rest of the World side.

However, in the summer of 2012, Pietersen supposedly said the same thing about Strauss, although it was in Afrikaans as he was sending text messages to the South African team.

“They live pretty near to each other,” Broad told the BBC. “I’m sure Straussy will have KP round for a glass of white or red, and discuss what’s happened. I’m sure the invite will go out.

“Two ex-England cricketers having a bit of an issue is not something that is relevant to the England changing room.”
