Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been forced to make a detour while he was on his way to Barbados for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

He will return to Bangladesh from London after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) ordered him to join the national team’s training camp for their upcoming tour of the West Indies.

“Shakib has been told to join the camp immediately,” the BCB’s acting CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told ESPNcricinfo.

Chowdhury did not confirm whether Al Hasan would be allowed to represent the Barbados Tridents in this year’s CPL, which gets underway on July 11.

In the inaugural edition of the CPL, Al Hasan was the second-highest wicket-taker behind West Indies pace bowler Krishmar Santokie.
