“The tribunal holds that this deliberate choice made by ACSU is unfortunate and wrong”

The Bangladesh Premier League’s (BPL) anti-corruption tribunal has announced that they are disgusted with the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Anti-Corruption and Security Unit’s (ACSU) decision to let a match that was thought to be fixed go ahead.

The tribunal also claimed that the ACSU let the match be played since it would give them even more evidence against the players they thought were involved in match-fixing.

“Although the focus of the service agreement [between ACSU and the BCB] and the code is on prevention of match-fixing and spot-fixing, the tribunal holds that this deliberate choice made by ACSU is unfortunate and wrong,” a document produced by the tribunal said.

The match being talked about, which is only one of four being investigated, featured the Dhaka Gladiators and Chittagong Kings, and occurred during the 2013 BPL.
