Kumar took 12 wickets in 15 matches during last year’s IPL

The Mumbai Indians have signed pace bowler Praveen Kumar after Zaheer Khan was ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to a left latissinus dorsi muscle strain.

Kumar went unsold in the IPL auction in February.

However, he did have an impact while playing for the Kings XI Punjab during the 2013 IPL season, where he took 12 wickets in 15 matches.
