“From now on the games will be totally dependent on the generators”

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and organisers of the World Twenty20 have announced that on-site generators will be present during all matches for the remainder of the tournament in order to ensure play is not delayed by a power failure.

This announcement comes after the Super-10 match between Sri Lanka and the Netherlands was delayed for approximately 10 minutes due to a power failure.

“These things can happen and they certainly did not turn out over the whole world,” BCB director AZM Nasiruddin said. “Earlier we used the line from the Power Development Board and kept the generators for back-up, but from now on the games will be totally dependent on the generators.”
