A BATTNG WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: Australia better put their trash talking plans into action if they don’t want to end up looking like ‘losers’, says Johan Botha

Botha wants to see what the Australians are really made of throughout the last two Test matches

Former South Africa spin bowler Johan Botha has called on Australia to put their trash talking plans into action over the last two Test matches against the Proteas if they don’t want to end up looking like “losers”.

Botha’s comments come after News Ltd newspapers leaked Australia’s series dossier, which included plans on trying to unsettle veteran batting duo Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla with bouncers.

News.com.au quoted Botha as saying: “It is just playing mind games, which is fair enough. You just want to get a bit of an edge before the series starts. If you talk it up and don’t deliver you look like the loser in the situation.”

Botha also believes that South Africa’s unbeaten streak over the last nine Test series shows just how far they have come both physically and mentally since beating defeated by Australia in February 2009.

“If you look at South Africa in head to head series they are really hard to beat,” Botha added.

The former spinner also noted that Australia’s pace attack would intentionally bowl bouncers and short-pitched deliveries in an attempt to hurt and unsettle the South African batsmen.

“I think a lot of teams have tried and they can just duck it all day. It is all talk,” Botha said.
