A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: England will struggle to defeat India at home, says Sourav Ganguly

Ganguly expects India to have no real problems defeating England

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly believes that England will struggle to beat the Indians at home in their upcoming four-Test series, which starts on November 15 in Ahmedabad.

Ganguly noted that India have an excellent record playing at home and expects the England team to struggle against their spinners and with the conditions as well.

“The Indian team is a good team. It is an extraordinary team on its home soil. Abroad they have not played that well in the last few years but on the home ground, they are an extraordinary team. It is difficult for any team to defeat them,” Ganguly said.

Ganguly also stated that the Indians will be looking for revenge after England whitewashed them 4-0 last year.

“The revenge is not complete as we were defeated on English soil. The revenge would be complete once England team is defeated on its own soil, as we were defeated in 2007 and 2011. India shall play well and they are the favourites,” Ganguly added.

The former captain further mentioned that the performance of India’s frontline spinners, which include Ravichandran Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha and Harbhajan Singh, would be key throughout the series.

“The bowling should be good, but in India there should be spinners as the ball can swing more. India has three good spinners like Harbhajan, Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha,” Ganguly said.
