A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: Hashim Amla is the key target for Australia, says Glenn McGrath

McGrath believes Amla will cause Australia the most problems if he is not removed early

With Australia’s home series against South Africa rapidly approaching, pace legend Glenn McGrath had offered some advice to the team, stating that their main concern should be dismissing Proteas batsman Hashim Amla as early as possible.

Amla has been in sublime form over the past couple of months, and almost recorded 1000 runs alone across all three formats in the recent series against England.

“Amla has been in incredible form. You look at his form in England recently where he just dominated, he was just so good. He is definitely that (the cornerstone of their batting). Jacques Kallis is another quality player, they have such a strong batting line-up the South Africans, there is no real weakness in their side. They have JP Duminy at seven and AB de Villiers before him is also a very good player, so it will be very important for Australia to get wickets early,” McGrath said.

McGrath added that pace bowler Peter Siddle would be the man capable of rattling the nerves of the South African batsmen, and that he should practice as much as possible before the start of the first Test on November 9 in Brisbane.

If Australia win this three-Test series against South Africa, then they will replace them as the number one Test team in the world.
