Sobers is considered to be one of the best batsmen in the history of cricket

West Indian batting legend, Sir Garfield Sobers famed ‘six sixes’ ball will be one of the prized items that auctioneers Bonhams have up for bids in their summer lineup.

Bonhams, are expecting the prized ball, which will be part of their sporting memorabilia section, to fetch a significant amount of money, when it is put up for auction.

Sobers, achieved the amazing milestone during an England county game in 1968, when he played for Nottingham.

On August 31 1968, Sobers, in a match against Glamorgan, hit six sixes off Malcolm Nash, who could not do anything but watch all the deliveries he bowled go sailing over the boundary.

Sobers bat from the same match was sold 12 years ago at a price of 54, 257 pounds, but, the ball had remained in private hands, until now.

The ball will be included with a number of other prized sporting memorabilia from the Olympics to other general sports.
