Sidhu fully supports Dhoni’s tactics of wanting to exploit England’s weaknesses
Former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has lashed out at legendary Australia batsman Steve Waugh over criticisms he made about Mahendra Singh Dhoni constantly wanting turning pitches throughout the four-Test series against England.
Waugh stated that it was unprofessional of Dhoni to ask the curators of the grounds to ensure that the track had a lot in them for spinners since it has been well documented in the past that England have struggled against spin bowling.
“Ask Steve Waugh whether the Indian team gets a turning track when we visit Perth?” Sidhu said in an exclusive interview with PTI. “Does Waugh want that we gift the Test series to England? The track will be same for both teams.”
Sidhu agreed that India should make it as difficult as possible for England to win the series since that is the aim of any country who play at home.
“We are not here to give comfort to the English side,” Sidhu added. “When we go to England, do they make tracks that offer turn?”
